Maya moved to Los Angeles to where she received her BA in International Development Studies and Master’s in Public Health at UCLA. Along with her 500-hour Yoga Certification, she is NASM certified.
Maya believes knowledge is power and words as the vehicle to share that power. Her academic pursuits in scientific research, creative eye, copywriting experience and almost a decade working in the health and wellness field has lead to creating content for brands like Fabletics and writing for Yoga Tune Up®, Volleyball Magazine, South Bay Magazine, MindBodyGreen as well as other publications and non-profits. Maya works with emerging companies in the health and wellness field on their Branding Foundation and Social Media strategy.
Now Maya lives in Venice, CA with her dog Luna and works to inspire people to sweat every day by making movement and healthy living fun and accessible by sharing information on this blog and on her food site Kale Cult (coming soon). When Maya is not working one-on-one with clients, teaching classes or consulting with brands you can often find her reading in the backyard with Luna and her three giant tortoises.
